Andy Naselli has compiled several remarks of John Piper on television.

For example: “Television is one of the greatest life-wasters of the modern age. And, of course, the Internet is running to catch up, and may have caught up.”

Internet has caught up. We can criticize television all day along (and we should–thanks, Andy), and note that we don’t have  a TV in the home (which would certainly be a big help in resisting that temptation), but the Internet, screaming at us through our desktops, laptops, iPhones, and smartphones, is now king of banality, time-wasting, and addiction to entertainment.

May God save us from the Internet.

(Yes, I know I’m posting this on the internet.)
